Chartreuse sits where green turns gold, the colour of beech leaves with the light behind them. On velvet, the effect doubles: the pile builds the colour, olive one way, near-gold the other, so the cushion shifts with the hour and the lamp. It is the shade for rooms that could use a little sun. Inside, a duck feather filler, full and slow to flatten. Made in the UK.

Styling Notes:

The pile runs on both faces, no wrong side, and at 445 gsm, the cloth has enough body to sit up on its own. Velvet is really a colour instrument: the same dye reads two ways depending on how the nap lies, and chartreuse makes the most of the trick. Made in the UK.
