The Stanway Recycled Glass Lamp

£135.00

The Stanway brings height to an arrangement without the broad body of our rounder glass lamps. Its slender proportions make it a useful choice for a console, bedside or side table where you would like a taller lamp with a narrower base.

A simple linen shade keeps the silhouette clear; a patterned shade can add definition and interest.

Materials and making

The Stanway offers a different proportion from a broad, rounded lamp: more height, less width, and a clear outline. We like it among objects, where the shape and height adds variety, either on a console or bedside.

Its recycled glass is made in Spain, and then crafted into the lamp with UK-made fittings. Each lamp is wired and assembled in the UK.

Care Instructions

Switch off and unplug the lamp before cleaning, and allow the bulb to cool.

Dust gently with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid abrasive materials, chemical cleaners and sprays which may damage the finish. Keep moisture away from the bulb holder, electrical fittings and the plug.

Use a bulb that matches the fitting, and do not exceed the maximum wattage stated on the lamp or lampshade.

Choosing your glass colour

Clear lets the shape and your chosen lampshade take the lead.

Olive introduces a rich green. We like it beside warm wood, cream linen and paired with shared greens in a living room.

Smoke gives the arrangement a deeper neutral. A pale shade provides contrast without adding another strong colour.

Petrol Blue makes more of the base itself. Try it with one of our Cornflower Blue lampshades, or repeat a little blue elsewhere in the room.

Lampshade Pairing

The Shade We'd Choose

Our first choice is Olive with the 12-inch Forest Green Country Walk Empire Lampshade. The farmhouse scene complements the Olive base. We'd use this to build on other green tones in the room.

For a plainer finish, we'd pair the 10-inch Milk Linen Lampshade with the Smoke. The pale linen enhances the brown glass without adding another pattern, making this particularly useful beside patterned curtains or upholstery.
