With its broad, rounded shape, the Laverton is a lamp we'd choose for a generous side table or sideboard. The glass gives it presence without the solid appearance of a ceramic base, leaving the room beyond in view.

A plain linen shade keeps the outline simple, or a patterned one brings more colour into the arrangement. Choose Clear to let the shade lead, or coloured glass to pick up a tone elsewhere in the room.

Materials and making

The Laverton's character comes from its proportions and the contrast between glass, cork and brass. The rounded body has enough shape to hold its own on a sideboard, while the simple fittings leave room for a patterned shade.

The recycled glass is made in Spain, and then crafted into the lamp with UK-made fittings. Each lamp is wired and assembled in the UK

Care Instructions

Switch off and unplug the lamp before cleaning, and allow the bulb to cool.

Dust gently with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid abrasive materials, chemical cleaners and sprays which may damage the finish. Keep moisture away from the bulb holder, electrical fittings and the plug.

Use a bulb that matches the fitting, and do not exceed the maximum wattage stated on the lamp or lampshade.

Choosing your glass colour

Clear lets the shape and your chosen lampshade take the lead.

Olive introduces a rich green. We like it beside warm wood, cream linen and paired with shared greens in a living room.

Smoke gives the arrangement a deeper neutral. A pale shade provides contrast without adding another strong colour.

Petrol Blue makes more of the base itself. Try it with one of our Cornflower Blue lampshades, or repeat a little blue elsewhere in the room.

The Shade We'd Choose

Our starting point is the Clear Laverton base 14-inch Forest Green Stripe Lamphade. The hand-drawn green lines give the arrangement structure, while the cream background keeps the contrast gentle. We'd use it beside warm wood, pale upholstery, or a favourite green cushion.

For texture without a print, we'd choose the 14-inch Stucco Pleated Lampshade. Its sandy linen and repeated pleats bring a different finish to the smooth glass.
