The colour is a soft, settled sage, calm without being flat, with a dashed weave pattern that gives the surface a gentle, flecked character. Look closely, and you'll see faint traces of blue and gold through the green where different wools catch the light. This throw is woven from a blend of wools, each one bringing something to the finished cloth. Softness, durability, all spun and woven at the same Yorkshire mill, under one roof.

How It's Made

This throw is woven at one of Britain's last remaining vertical woollen mills, in Yorkshire, a mill that has been producing wool cloth since 1837.

The Charingworth throws are woven from a blend of wools, each fibre contributing its own quality to the finished throw. Blended and spun together at the mill, they produce a balanced and distinctive feel.

Every stage of production takes place under one roof: the wool is dyed using closely guarded recipes, then carded, spun, and woven on rapier looms. After weaving, the cloth is scoured with pure water drawn from boreholes 800 feet below the mill, then carefully finished and pressed. Every inch is inspected three times before it leaves the factory.

The result is a throw that combines the finest characteristics of different wools with nearly two centuries of craftsmanship.
